Frequently Asked Questions:
- How does this work? The curriculum is designed to be taught in one 65-minute session per month with some homework assignments in between.
- Where did the content of the curriculum come from? The requirements listed in this curriculum come from the TLT program operations and the Voyager, Guide, and Master Guide requirements. No new requirements have been added. Some redundancies have been removed. Sometimes knowing how to accomplish all the requirements can be daunting. This curriculum is simply a pacing guide to help you accomplish everything.
- What is "Pre-Master Guide"? Some of the Master Guide requirements are built in to the course of study during year 3 and 4 of this curriculum. When TLTs finish, they will have already made a good start on their Master Guide requirements. You must remember that the Master Guide curriculum can not be started before the age of 16 and it can't be finished until after the age of 18 and you have a maximum of 3 years to complete it. That being said, TLTs would 1 additional year after graduation to complete the remaining Master Guide requirements not covered in this curriculum.
- What if I have TLTs in different years or ages? What if I don't have enough staff for 4 classes? This curriculum is deigned for high school students (9th graders do year 1, 10th graders to year 2, and so on). If you don't have enough teachers and TLTs to run 4 separate classes, you can use this curriculum "small-school style". Put all the TLTs together in one class, regardless of their ages/grades. The first year, do Year 1 curriculum, the the second year do year 2 curriculum, and so on. On the 5th year you would go back to year 1 curriculum and start agin. By the time a TLT is in the program for 4 years, they will have completed all 4 years worth of curriculum. Just not necessarily in order, which is fine. The only drawback to this is that if the TLT is doing the year 3 or 4 curriculum and they are not yet 16 years old. Master Guide requires individuals to at least be 16 before they begin working on Master Guide requirements. One way to remedy this would be to run two TLT classes and put the year 1 and year 2's together for two years and then the year 3 and year 4's together for two years.
