Spiders Honor
A COLLABORATIVE AND EXPLORATIVE APPROACH USING INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOKS AND STATIONS
Part A- INTRODUCTION to Spiders
Step 1 - Pathfinders fill out a "KWL" chart to reflect on what they already KNOW about Spiders, what they WANT TO KNOW about spiders, and then at the end, what they LEARNED about spiders. Print out a copy for each pathfinder and have them trim and glue it into their interactive notebook.

Part b - Interactive stations
Step 1 - There are six interactive and collaborative stations the Pathfinders will rotate between. Ahead of time, print out the directions for each stations and the materials needed for each station (click button above to access materials). Supplies needed for this portion include glue, scissors, Bibles, each Pathfinder's interactive notebook, and the "Spider Bundle" from www.teacherspayteachers.com (a $12 purchase).
Step 2 - Watch the tutorial video above to help familiarize yourself with how the stations are set up. Step 3 - Divide your Pathfinders into groups of 2 or 3 and have them rotate through the six stations. Station an adult or TLT staff member at each station as a helper. |

Part c - Summary & Assessment
Step 1 - Have Pathfinders go back to their "KWL Chart" and fill in the "L" column to reflect on what they have LEARNED about spiders.
Step 2 - Using the online game service Kahoot, give students the "Spider Honor Quiz." Kahoot Note: If you aren't familiar with what Kahoot is or how to use it, check out the tutorial video. Kahoot is an AWESOME way to engage kids and, I promise, if you try it once, you'll be hooked! T |
